UCAT 2023 Test Dates & Everything you Need to Know! (formerly UKCAT 2023)

UCAT 2023 dates are now confirmed by the UCAT Consortium. UCAT Account creation opens on 16 May 2023 & Testing starts on 10 July 2023. Everything that you need to know about Registration, Booking, and Sitting your UCAT exam in 2023, for 2024 entry. Find out all the key dates here and remember to join our mailing list to be updated on any changes to these dates.

If you have decided you would like to apply to medical school or dental school in the UK, you are probably aware that you are likely going to have to sit the UCAT test, which is the most widely used aptitude test by medical and dental schools in the UK. Scoring well at the UCAT is an important component of success when applying to universities and it’s perfectly understandable if you want to focus on starting with practice tests straight away.

However, note that there are a few logistics surrounding the UCAT as well, such as registration and booking a test date that have pretty strict deadlines. You are required to sit the UCAT 2023 if you are applying for entry in 2024 (or deferred entry in 2025) to a relevant course at a UK Consortium or non-UK Associate Member University.

How Do I Register For UCAT?

Registration for the UCAT 2023 is a two-step process of creating an account and booking a test. UCAT Account Creation opens on 16 May 2023 at 9.30 am BST via the Pearson Vue website. Once UCAT registration opens, you’ll have to create an online account. When you register you should:

  • Use your legal name as it shows on your ID

  • Make sure that your name matches your UCAS application

  • Answer the registration questionnaire (get a preview here)

  • Wait for your password to come via email – and contact Pearson VUE if it doesn’t arrive within 36 hours

You don’t have to book your test date at the same time as you register – you can do this at a later date. Once you’re registered, you’ll be able to apply for UCAT, and for a bursary.

Booking for the UCAT 2023 opens on 20 June 2023 at 6am BST. You cannot book a test until this date. UCAT 2023 testing starts on 10 July.

If you don’t register before the deadline, you won’t be able to sit for the UCAT.

Where Can I Find UCAT Test Centres?

  • These prices may be subject to change as the official UCAT release further guidance of registration and booking before the 1st of July.

Can you reschedule UCAT?

  • How to change the date of your UKCAT?

  • You can postpone your exam so if you feel unwell or unprepared the best thing to do is to reschedule your UCAT exam. However, if you postpone the exam too late then you may not be refunded your fee, so make sure you reschedule the UCAT in advance. You can cancel or reschedule your UCAT test appointment as long as you give the appropriate amount of notice. It can be done by contacting the Pearson Vue Customer Services Team.

What should you take for your UCAT Exam on test day?

The UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) is a computer-based exam that assesses the aptitude and cognitive abilities of prospective medical and dental students in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧, Australia 🇦🇺, and New Zealand 🇳🇿.

The test is used as a tool for universities to measure critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. The UCAT comprises five sections: Verbal Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning, and Situational Judgment. The Verbal Reasoning section tests a candidate's ability to analyze and draw conclusions from written information. The Decision Making section evaluates a candidate's ability to make decisions under pressure. The Quantitative Reasoning section assesses mathematical skills, while the Abstract Reasoning section tests logical reasoning skills. The Situational Judgment section evaluates the ability to handle complex situations and assesses ethical and moral values.

The UCAT is a crucial factor in the admissions process for medical and dental programs, with universities using UCAT scores as a means of shortlisting candidates for interviews or making offers of study. Therefore, it is important that prospective students prepare thoroughly for the exam.

Overall, the UCAT is a rigorous test that assesses the cognitive abilities and critical thinking skills required for success in medical and dental programs. Prospective students should prepare thoroughly and approach the exam with the confidence to achieve the best possible results.

We at GuideMe provide one of the best UCAT/ UKCAT classes in Dubai designed to achieve high scores.
