Study Fashion in Europe

Whether you are planning to start your own fashion line or want to work with brands such as Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Maison Valentino, or Louis Vuitton, studying fashion courses has become indisputably an attractive career option. Studying fashion abroad is an excellent opportunity to enrich your education, get inspired by new, global trends, and even get some experience in the industry itself. There are a lot of fashion programs for studying Bachelors's and Masters's degrees. Some of the most famous majors are Fashion Design Menswear, Fashion Design Womenswear, Fashion Journalism, Textile Design, etc.


A Bachelor’s degree is for 3 years and a Master's program at most of the top schools is 2 years long. For applying to such top schools, you need to have a high IELTS score and you would also require a mini-portfolio showing your skills at the time of application.


Some of the colleges give a lot of opportunities for scholarships in fashion degrees and collaborations with external professionals and sponsors such as Christian Dior, L’Oréal Professionnel, Louis Vuitton, Nike, Puma, etc.

Domus Academy, Milan


Domus Academy was founded in 1982 as one of the first postgraduate design schools in Italy and as an open project revolving around the experience of Italian design and fashion. Located in Milan, Italy – the fashion and design capital of the world – Domus Academy offers 11 Masters Programmes in the field of fashion and design.

Domus Academy is a place where future designers experience an open and cross-disciplinary environment. The 1-year postgraduate master programs in the areas of fashion, design, experience, and business enable students to work following learning by designing approach, participating in interdisciplinary workshops with experienced professionals and leading companies.

Domus Academy students benefit from an internship that is included in your course of study. What’s more, you can extend your permit to stay to work in Italy for up to one year after graduation.


Over the years, it has established itself as a school in the full sense of the term: a place for postgraduate training and a research laboratory on the themes of innovation and design.

ESMOD, Paris (France, Russia, Dubai, Tokyo)


The École supérieure des arts et techniques de la mode, or ESMOD, is a French private school of fashion. It was founded in Paris in 1841 by Alexis Lavigne. It has branches in Bordeaux, Lyon, Paris, Rennes, and Roubaix in France, and in several cities in other countries, including Moscow, Dubai, and Tokyo.

The university base is a magnificent private mansion. It is built around a central atrium. There are 15 design and patternmaking classrooms on 5 floors. Also a sewing classroom, cad room (computer-assisted patternmaking), documentation center, fabric library, study room, and eating area. It offers a lot of courses in Fashion, Short duration courses, graduate programs, and summer courses at their Paris campus.

Polimoda International Institute, Florence


The Polimoda International Institute of Fashion Design and Marketing is a private fashion school in Florence, the capital of Tuscany, Italy. The school was founded in 1986 as a joint project of the cities of Florence and Prato, and the Fashion Institute of Technology of State University of New York.

Polimoda offers full-time courses at undergraduate (Fashion Art Direction, Fashion Business, Fashion Design, and Fashion Merchandising) and postgraduate levels (Bag Design, Collection Design, Creative Direction, Digital Fashion, Fashion Art Direction, Fashion Brand Management, Fashion Design, Fashion Economics, etc.), as well as a variety of short courses.

NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti) - Milan, Rome


NABA is the largest private art academy in Italy. It offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in Italian and English that are accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR). As a student at the top design institute in Italy, you’ll develop your craft while preparing for the world of work.
