About the IMAT
The IMAT, or International Medical Admissions Test, is one of the most competitive medical admissions exams globally, used by Italian universities to select candidates for English-taught medicine programs. From 2025, the exam will be developed by CINECA, an Italian inter-university consortium, in collaboration with the Ministry of University and Research. Cambridge Assessment no longer creates the exam. The updated IMAT covers biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics, as well as logical reasoning and general knowledge. Science knowledge matters, but clear thinking matters just as much. Many questions are designed to assess how calmly a student can read, understand, and decide under time pressure.
